With this review I want to confirm that this ELSEVIER INDIA reprint (ISBN 978-81-312-0651-5) is EXACTLY IDENTICAL to the hard-cover edition https://www.amazon.de/Optics-Principles-Applications-Kailash-Sharma/dp/0123706114/ (which has ISBN 978-0-12-370611-9), except the only difference is that the ELSEVIER INDIA reprint has a paperback cover. In the ELSEVIER INDIA reprint, even the cover art is the same. As regards contents, this is a truly excellent book, however as a relative newcomer to the field of optics I did need a few other, more introductory, books, in order to get to understand the material in Sharma. PS: I discovered that in my copy in this reprint by Elsevier India (ISBN 978-81-312-0651-5), the pages 64-65, 68-69, 72-73, and 76-77 are completely blank!! Obviously a printing error. Likely (or hopefully) the printing error occurs only in a few copies, but other buyers may want to check those pages immediately after they receive the reprint.
