In recent years, the transport simulation of large road networks has become far more rapid and detailed, and many exciting developments in this field have emerged. In this perspective, the authors describe the simulation of automobile, pedestrian and rail traffic, coupled to new applications, such as the embedding of traffic simulation into driving simulators, to give a more realistic environment of driver behavior surrounding the subject vehicle. New approaches to traffic simulation are described, including the hybrid mesoscopic-microscopic model and floor-field agent-based simulation. Das experimentelle Musiktheater »Plätze. Dächer. Leute. Wege.« erkundete am Beispiel der Stadt Bielefeld utopische Potenziale im urbanen Raum. Ein Team aus Musikern, Tänzern, Künstlern, Wissenschaftlern und Dramaturgen beschäftigte sich im in mehreren gleichberechtigten Projektbausteinen mit dieser Aufgabe und transformierte die Ergebnisse in ein Musiktheater. Der Abend stellt das Prozesshafte in den Vordergrund, die Veranstaltung begreift sich als Versammlung der Stadt und als Teil einer Bewegung, die sich mit experimentellen Mitteln fragt: Wie wollen wir leben?Ergänzend dazu versammelt der Band Essays zu den Themen Musiktheater sowie Stadt und Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum.
