Whatever Darrow had to say was and is interesting to me. His feelings for those who worked during our early days in America.. early 1900s, was exemplary, in my opinion. The ease with which the moguls of our early industry allowed for conditions and wages amounting to slave labor, thankfully exist much less today, though industry still has impact of what rules they are allowed to live by. We are still a nation financed considerably by under the table monies that Industrial giants use to influence exactly "how nice" labor should be treated. In rare instances a mogul is caught and tried, perhaps sent to jail....but we need be thankful to the unions and organized labor that conditions are so much the better today than during Darrows' time ..Organized labor can and did force "better behavior" toward workers..and Darrow had much to do with this progress.
This book is not available or what. I ordered but then also I don't get book till now.
good
Looking back to over 100 years ago, this speech by Darrow notes two key elements- that little changes in the rhetoric or issues of the working class, and that history repeats itself. This could just as easily been given by AOC or Senator Sanders today. A good historical perspective.
Excellent book that deals with our history...should be rated among the classics.
Chilling speech on the labor issues of 100 years ago that could have been written a month ago. Must read for anyone looking for evidence of conspiracy among large corporations.
Interesting

An interesting read on a lecture given by Clarence Darrow on industrial conspiracies. A great look at the difficulties in American law caused by the outdated American constitution.
I have always admired Clarence Darrow, his constant fight for the ordinary people who are used, abused, cheated and lied to in the name of "for the common good" progress. This talk given at a celebration of his 60th birthday nearly 100 years ago shows just how far we have come. Yes !!! not very far at all, in fact we appear to be going backwards. There is a saying that people who forget their history will be obliged to re-live it. The more I read of Clarence Darrow`s words, thoughts and deeds the more I wonder at mans stupidity and greed. People shoud read some of his works they are as true today as they were then.
This was a bold lecture from Darrow exposing how companies exploit economy in various forms. He explained labour related issues and the industrial conspiracy behind the same. A well written book which takes you back in time and gives you a very good perspective, a differentiated perspective.
