Black Beauty, Young Folks' Edition

I should have thought about what "young folks edition" means before downloading this. There's a lot missing from this edition, such as stories about cruelty to animals and ways to overcome it. We never find out about Beauty's accident--why did he fall down and break his knees?--and we never hear about why Jerry the cabman was forced to sell him. But to anyone who pretty much has the book memorized already, these things won't matter much.

Traditional story loved for years by many generations. We bought this for Alexa to read as bed time and have not been disappointed.

Well one thing i don't like is that it misses out a lot of important things like the fire and some other things so that is one thing to complain about!!!! but I really enjoyed reading this book with my mum even though she read it before me but this is a really good book.But one of the things is that inspired me w as that it was about a horse and one of the things i love doing is horse riding i go to wellgrove farm and i like most of the horses there especially Bobby ,Tom,Marcus,Bart,Blue,Baby a nd some others but the book's w as really good soi am glad that who ever published this book well done for you it w as loverly to read it!!!!!!!!

i bought my daughter a kindle hoping she would read more to help her with reading writing and spelling she read the book quickly and really enjoyed it plus she could check out words she was not sure of very pleased with black beauty will get more thanks

I have always loved the story of Black Beauty. I was sad that this edition left out some, for me, key events.

This is a pleasant story to read, and wasn't quite as boring as I thought it would be. I remember watching the movie, but I'd dare say that the book was better.

Good! This was one of the best book I read in along time. I had fun reading the book today in the car!

I chose this version of Black Beauty for a reluctant reader that I tutor. The vocabulary is easier to manage and the length of the chapters is not too overwhelming. Since I got it as an ebook on my Kindle, I am able to choose a larger font which makes for easier reacing. For a reluctant reader, who is fond of horses, this version of Black Beauty is a good choice.

It is a shorter version but a fairly easy and quick read. In joy the story of black beauty. Good for grade school readers.

I think It was a great book that every young adult who has a passion for adventure and horse lovers

I had forgotten what an amazing story this is. I had the book given to me as a Christmas present when I was 12 years old. I read it over and over again. It still tugs at my heart strings.
