Understanding Oswald de Andrade's Manifesto Antropofago (English title: Cannibal Manifesto, 1928) not only as an aesthetic production, but also as a postcolonial theory construction, opens up new perspectives on Brazilian culture, which - after extensive cultural and historical contextualization - render the manifesto fertile ground for an understanding of Tropicalismo.
