----- 凋亡细胞死亡的机制
In contrast to necrosis, apoptosis is an active, 'suicidal' process leading to cell death. Despite tremendous progress within the past few years, the cellular mechanisms mediating apoptotic cell death are still poorly understood. Nevertheless, a wide variety of genes and signalling molecules have been shown to participate in the machinery eventually leading to apoptosis. This collection of expert reviews brings together present knowledge on these mechanisms. It is hoped that this special issue will stimulate and guide further experimental efforts to unravel the physiological mechanisms mediating this terminal function of a cell.
