Considering the rapid pace at which new applications of proteomics are appearing in the literature, this is a timely publication and would be a good resource for someone trying to get an overview of the field. There are 21 chapters, divided into seven parts, or sections: aspects in biomedical research; blood vessels; cancer; pharmaco-toxicology; infectious diseases; central nervous system; and mass spectrometry and bioinformatics.
