Pediatric hemostasis has unique characteristics and the natural course of bleeding disorders in children and neonates may differ substantially from that observed in adult patients. This special issue on pediatric coagulation reviews some of the controversies associated with the diagnosis, epidemiology and therapy of bleeding disorders as well as thrombosis in children. It will be of interest to pediatricians, neonatologists, pediatric hematologists and ICU experts, gynecologists and to hematologists involved in thrombosis and hemostasis.
