The absence of a »Bibliography of German Translations from the Italian« has long been lamented by representatives of German studies, Romance studies, comparative literature, cultural studies and related research fields. The huge discrepancy between the mass of literature published and the small number of works accepted into the literary canon makes it extremely difficult to achieve an overview of the abundance of translations in print at any given time. Volume I of the »Bibliography« (1992) covered the period up to 1730. The present volume takes the bibliography up to the beginning of the 1990s. To ensure correct information, all publications available from lending libraries have been checked via autopsy. This final volume of the »Bibliography« will be supplemented by a CD-ROM containing both volumes (single-user version for Windows from '95).
