Friedrich Schleiermacher (1768�) was the most spiritually captivating pulpit orator of his era. This volume includes texts of the sermons he presented during 56 Sunday worship services in 1824, based on high-quality transcriptions. Among them, 22 sermons were completely unknown until now. For 12 of the 15 texts published by Schleiermacher himself, it has also been possible to include an alternate version, which vividly illustrates his creative process in writing the literary sermons.
