Presentation of insights into the role and underlying mechanisms of Cation homeostasis in plants under environmental stresses has been the major focus of current plant research. This book brings together contributions around the world to discuss and the current knowledge of the role stress genes play in plant stress tolerance, with special emphasis on those regulating the uptake and distribution of K+ and its competitive inhibitor Na+. The present book intends to help college students, teachers, researchers and other readers interested in plant physiology better understand the mechanisms employed by plants to compensate transient imbalances in the levels of their main cations.
