In this book, the authors present current research in the study of the health services, quality and clinical management issues relating to hospice care. Topics discussed in this compilation include the sociological explanations for quality of end-of-life care in Finland; providing hospice care to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) populations; renal considerations in palliative medicine; using evidence-based measures to document the decline in hospice patients; implementation of hospice and palliative medicine training in the United States to meet patients' end-of-life needs; bridging the gap in end-of-life care decision making; and the ethical issues in hospice care.
