In this book, the authors present current research in the study of the techniques, applications and technologies of remote sensing. Topics discussed include the techniques used to investigate the surface dynamics of coastal areas using radar remote sensing; technologies to understand crop status from different sensors including multispectral camera, spectrometer, laser range finder and light quantum sensors; hydrological modeling, flood forecasting, water conservation and efficiency in irrigation; the horizontal transport and dispersion in large hydroelectric reservoirs through the use of satellite tracked drifters; imaging cameras as an intelligent device for extracting relative attitude information needed for attitude control; and techniques to study the urban growth over time, combining unsupervised, supervised classifications and the spectral mixture analysis.
