Structural, biochemical or electrical abnormalities in the brain, spinal cord or other nerves can result in a range of symptoms or neurological disorders. Symptoms can include paralysis, muscle weakness, poor coordination, loss of sensation, seizures, confusion, pain and altered levels of consciousness. In this book, the authors present current research in the study of neurological disorders including advanced structural and functional MRI techniques used in Parkinson's disease; the role of neuropoietic cytokines in neural injury; neurological complications associated with anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a) treatment; effect of aging on changes in nociception and Cav2a1 expression patterns; polymeric intracorporeal devices for the management of neurological disorders; and autoimmunity to neurons and axons in neurological diseases.
