Hypertension and osteoporosis are two major age-related diseases. They are clinically silent disorders with high morbidity and mortality and the link between them has been reported recently with inconclusive evidence. This book presents and discusses research in this field which will improve our understanding of the relationship between high blood pressure and bone loss. It will begin by examining the clinical and experimental evidence of the involvement of the Renin-Angiotensin System (RAS), playing a central role in blood pressure control, in bone metabolism. This book concludes by summarizing the association between hypertension and osteoporosis in a comprehensive literature review.
