This new book examines U.S. federal crime law with a focus on the law enforcement tool of forfeiture; federal conspiracy law and venue. Forfeiture redirects property worth hundreds of millions of dollars from criminal to lawful uses. Federal conspiracy laws rest on the belief that criminal schemes are equally or more reprehensible than the substantive offenses to which they are devoted. Additionally, federal law promises criminal defendants a proper venue, that is, trial in the district in which the federal crime was committed. (Imprint: Nova Press
