Organoboranes are of great interest both in synthetic organic chemistry and in biomedical sciences. The main advantages of using organoboranes as intermediates in organic syntheses is their versatile reactivity, stability, relatively low toxicity and easy accessibility. The synthesis of organoboronic esters can be performed by catalytic and stoichiometric approaches. This new book discusses the catalytic synthesis of organoborane compounds with a particular focus on the activation of unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds through B addition from the perspective of the structure of the boron reagents.
