Robinson Co., to which the reader is referred for fuller information, and for references to the authorities; also of Mr. T. F. Kirby's finnals of Winchester College and Winchester Scholars, the Life of William of W yéeham, by the late Rev. G. H. Moberly, and the History of Winchester College, by Mr. A. F. Leach. A very few statements are based upon oral tradition; these have been so far as possible verified. I have received kind help from several friends, but am solely responsible for errors or omissions.
