Many years ago we commenced to note down facts, such as marriages, deaths, and other items relating to this family, as we found them in newspapers and books. Some 30 years ago we visited Salem, Marblehead and Dan vers, where the Feltons first settled on arriving in America, and where most of the first three generations lived and were buried. In 1876, being in failing health, we partly gave up farming, and extended our researches to other parts of the state (even to Philadelphia, at the time of the centennial exhibition,) and the next year, 1877, we brought out the Felton Family pam phlet of 19 pages, giving some account of 40 to 50 families that lived before this century. Had 70 copies printed and disposed of them in nine months, and not enough to supply the demand. This new and enlarged edition gives some ao count of upwards of 300 families, and is brought down nearly to the present time, 1886. Cyrus felton.
