This text provides a practical systems approach to describing how Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) telemetry systems and other telemetry systems are configured to gather data, format data for transmission, and ultimately process and present data to a user. It integrates many diverse topics from all areas of the field, including sensors, communications and signal processing, user interface design and computer systems. The book also includes telemetry standards used by NASA and the Department of Defence. Problem sets are presented at the end of each chapter to illustrate concepts within the text and to provide starting points for student design projects.
