I've attempted several books on social theory but this is probably the most accessible. Pip Jones & Liz Bradbury cover a wide range of social theories and explain complex ideas in a remarkably lucid and engaging way. This revised 3rd edition(2017) of this popular introduction to social theory has been thoroughly updated incorporating the latest developments in the field. Chapters from the 2nd edition(2011) on 'Postmodernity, Postmodernism and its Critics' & 'Rethinking Modernity' have been omitted and a new chapter on 'Sociology and its Publics' has been included. This intellectually stimulating book is highly recommended not only to advanced sociology students but to the general reader interested in gaining an understanding of how society works.

Book arrived sliced , looks like it's been done when opening up the pack of books maby ? I've had to cello tape it back together . Over all the book is fantastic I purchased it as I'm hoping to do sociology in 2019 . Definitely recommend

Perfect!

The book has a lot of great informations especially if you want to know more about different social theories. Some of the material can be a bit dry but it is still a good book.
