We heard this afternoon that the King had come to Zage, the capital of Metcha, situated on a high promontory on the southern side of the Lake, about ten miles from Korata. No one seemed to know anything of his movements, beyond the fact that he had encamped at the bottom of a deep bay formed by the Zage peninsula - a long neck of land projecting about three miles into the Lake. The Abai enters the Lake ten miles to the north-west of Zagê, runs through it in a strong current round the peninsula, and debouches on the southeastern side of the bay, about the same distance below Zage.
