North and Hillard's Latin Prose Composition for the use of Middle Forms of Schools contains 256 Exercises divided into two series, A and B, either of which would in itself afford a complete course of practice both in the Constructions and in the Vocabulary required. But the authors have had requests from several quarters to add to the number of Exercises; and, while they do not think it advisable or necessary to add to the original book, the present book is intended to meet the needs of any who desire a larger number of Exercises. It may be regarded as a C series of Exercises, parallel in all respects to the A and B series. Each Exercise is assigned by a heading to its proper place in North and Hillard's Latin Prose Composition, and in each Exercise the constructions and vocabulary required are only such as have been supplied before in the corresponding place in that book.
