I feel that a word is needed concerning our national dis regard of Charles and Mary Lamb's memory. The grave where they lie, in Edmonton churchyard, a drawing of which will be found opposite page 402 of Volume II., has occasion ally been allowed to fall into a deplorable state. Private piety has twice restored the stone; and at the present moment the flowers are in the care of certain persons who are not likely to allow neglect again to reign; but one would like to think that the nation charged itself with some little office for this brother and sister.
