Gradual growth to over volumes (april, 1915) has necessitated amplification. No changes, no erasures, were re quired on the books, catalogues, or other records; the addition of one or more letters proved to be a simple, rapid, cheap process. New subjects. Like Aeroplanes, Photo-plays, War of 1914 easily found their appropriate places. The expansion has been carried down' through class 302, and a few other subjects — as Botany, Architecture, Semitic and Ger manic Literatures, have been similarly treated. For these por tions the classification is ample in a general library of this size. We are printing a very limited edition of the classification as it now stands for our own convenience, and therefore need not apologize for not expanding it as a whole.
