A children's hospital is not a bad place to die in failing forest or hilltop, perhaps, one may not easily find a better. It is clean and airy, and there are few Opportunities for the hysterical confusion of leave-taking which gives a touch of horror and bewilderment to the greater dignities of a private decease. The Author Of the Human Comedy, one fancies, did not pay much attention to our exits and our entrances. They seldom strike the imagi nation; yet, from the spectator's point of view, they are not the least strange or important details of the play.
