内容简介

In 647, St. Felix was buried at Dunwich, but owing to the incursions of the Danes, his body was removed to Soham, but here it was not free from danger, for the monastery he had founded was completely destroyed, and the Danes did their best to stamp out Christianity in the country by razing to the ground all the churches they encountered. Although he did so much for Suffolk generally, it is remark able that there are no churches dedicated to St. Felix in the county. The two Flixtons in Suffolk are said to have been named after this saint, and Felixstowe from a priory of Bene dietine monks dedicated to him.
