The. Early history of the Mission to the Nestorians was prolific in literature. The works of Rev. Dr. Perkins and Dr. Grant, the story of Miss Fidelia Fiske, as told in Woman and Her Saviour in Persia, Faith Working by Love, the biographies dard, Lobdell and Rhea have made accessible and some what familiar the first period of the mission. Little has been written concerning the later history, since the transfer of the mission from the American Board to the Presbyterian Board at the time of the reunion. The quarter-centennial of that event seems a fitting time to record the story of its progress. Its scope and territorial limits have been greatly enlarged; one station has become six, eleven missionaries have in creased to fifty-nine, comprised in two missions, called the Western Persia and the Eastern Persia Missions.
