According to the rules of the Young Peo ple's Missionary Movement, the Editorial Com mittee has liberty to make any alterations that it may consider necessary in the manuscripts submitted to it for publication. In making such changes it is customary to consult with the author. The absence of Dr. Gale in Korea has made it impossible to secure from his pen a few additions that were found desirable. These have been made exclusively in Chapters VII and VIII, and have been taken mainly from the reports of other missionaries. These are indicated by quotation marks. There have also been some rearrangement of material and a few elisions. The Committee regrets ear nestly that it has been impossible to submit all these changes to Dr. Gale for his approval.
