Hydrodynamics

This is an encyclopedic collection of the classical results. And the role this book plays in fluid dynamics is just like Carslaw's classical book does in heat conduction area. It really takes time and endeavor to digest.

This is a very classical book on the subject of fluid mechanics, and I was very happy to find a hardcover version. But this version is a big disappointment! Obviously this is a copy of a library book with the call number, the name of the library and other people's writing in it. The worst things are: it is not complete, and it is so blurring that I was not able to read it at all! I found a printing statement in the book saying that this is "due to the very old age and scarcity of this book". I really think Amazon should put this statement in the description of this book! Too bad that I eagerly put my name in the first page, otherwise I definitely will return it.

Description of Laplace equation and correct interpretation of spherical harmonics never equalled in all the books that followed this. A worthy investment for any serious physicist, I only wish I'd bought it sooner and not wasted time.

This seems to be a reprint of Lamb's 1895 edition and not one of the later editions. Hence it is about 100 pages shorter than the latest edition and, for example, does not include the later edition section on solitons. Nevertheless, it is still classic Lamb with great detail and insight into fluid dynamic topics.

Who needs a science book without equations? Right, no one. It is a bad electronic version of the book, low quality.

The printing is almost unreadable in the kindle software... With a lot of misprintings and strange typos. The original book, which I have in paper, is very good of course. I just wanted a copy I could carry everywhere, but it did not worked.

.... in einigen Formeln fehlen Variablen und man kann es bspw. mit Citavi nicht einfach verwenden. Daher muss ich mir nun noch eine "echte" Ausgabe ausleihen und die Referenzen daran anlehnen.Qualität und Bindung sind sehr gut. Blattdicke lässt nichts durchscheinen.
