His book needs no introduction to the public from me, being, as well as I can judge, an excellent piece of biographical literature clear, compact, impartial which can stand securely on its own merits. Nor does the subject of it require that any one Scotsman need vindicate any other's right to take a share in the general tribute to the illustrious memory of John Knox.
