It seems to focus on studies testing different hypotheses to explain the high forest and coral reef diversity. I wish it included more of the animal behavior work...

It is a very nice reading and it touches on major issues regarding tropical ecology and evolution. However, I am giving only 4 stars because it is more like a history book of the field biological station on Barro Colorado Island in Panama, and at times it only skims on important concepts on biodiversity. Don't get me wrong, it is a great homage to the history of the field station in Panama, but the title is a bit misleading.
