Within recent years, affinity chromatography has become established as one of the most potent separatory techniques available to the biochemist. The technique has been exploited in almost every area of biochemistry and its applications are rapidly infiltrating cellular biology, immunology, medicine and technology. Because of this explosive development, this book is not intended as a comprehensive account of all the available systems but rather as a guide to current trends. However, whilst the detailed methodology of these systems vary, they are based on common principles.Theaim ofthis book is to delineate these common principles and show how they are applied in practice.
