Now during the past 15 years I have bought and read 26 books concerning epilepsy and epilepsy-like seizures. And actually starting this buying of books, as living long from a library, ¾ of a year after I to a doctor had talking about my fear of being hit by seizures as the result of stress; and then it actually began.
Actually, before these seizures, which started there in 2004, I only had had one single seizure way back in 1975. An in this connection it is interesting in the book read that about 50% of person being 65 or higher at age, are getting seizures without being epileptic.
Besides, it is also highly interesting in the book, while printed back in 1997, to read a whole chapter about non-epileptic seizures, actually the chapter 9, âDiagnosis and Management of Nonepileptic Seizuresâ. While in nearly all of the book about epilepsy, which I own now, there are no writing about this. Nearly I first discovered and read about it, 2 years ago, in this excellent book written by Myers, Lorna, PhD.: âPsychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures: A Guideâ, but also shortly later in schoolbook for doctors working with epilepsy, Engel, Jerome Jr. âSeizures and Epilepsyâ, printed in 2013.
In the book, we get much brain scanning with god informationâs about the lesions, and many EEGs. And concerning the EEG, starting on the side 188 we interestingly read about at personal case, that is about a patient who after 14 days without drugs again epilepsy, had no seizure. But then, when he again had a seizure, he was hooked up on the ambulatory system, and when he net day returned, he reported having two clinical seizures for which he pushed the event button. But when they looked closer on the papers, they found they found that the system also had captured many epileptic spikes. Actually, we on the figure 10.2.B see 13 of them happening during the night from 01:3:56 to 03:20:45. That is while he was sleeping.
To me it was an interesting book to read, but at it is printed way back 21 years ago, I, as always, are skeptical when it comes to the drugs. But in any case, I need to read books like this one, about epileptic like seizures, as the doctors which I until now have met here in Chiang Mai, blindly believe that seizures only come as a result of epilepsy.
